Daily Opportunit to do list

Daily Opportunity to do list

The alarm clock suddenly sets out it's blood piercing scream, and I awoke with a jolt! Why, why now I just went to sleep, I do not want to leave my warm cocoon of blankets, a place that feels safe and warm and framiler. But that annoying noise, like the fire alarm at school that keeps mercilessly wailing!!! Finally I heave myself out of bed and I stumble over my backpack that I left on my floor, the night before. In the process I manage to sound like an elephant falling down the stairs. Where is that stupid alarm!!! By now, I have began to wake, like a bear that has been hibernating. To the amazement of my mind at that time in the morning I find that the alarm is on the floor? O well what ever. I hit the button with such force that the wailing seizes to exist. Or at least until tomorrow. I see the time, and O NO, its 7:00? WHAT? HOW? Wait, now I remember I did hit the snooze button five times? Maybe I hit it six times? The shower is not running, I still have time to take a shower before school. I quickly run into the bathroom, to take a shower before my sister gets out of bed. I quickly take my shower and get ready for school, and as I run by room I snatch the black rock that tripped me while I was awaking from hibernation. I run downstairs as fast as a rabbit runs from a dog. I quickly gobble down breakfast in record time beating the starving Beagle. SARAH! WE HAVE TO GO! ARE YOU READY??? Almost! No your not! you do not even have your shoes on! We have to go! I know I know. Hurry I am going to be late! Finally we go out to the car and quickly get in and we hurry away to school. I have to drop her off by South Junior High School on my way to school in the morning. So I drop her off and I hurry away to school. When I arrive, I have to scavenge for a place to park. I have to park on one of the side streets, and usually there is one close that I can quickly capture. I have to play dodge ball with cars as I take my journey across the street. As I walk through the doors as what is know as opportunity I have to swim through the hallways to attempt to see my friends that I hang out with often. After a nanosecond of a debriefing session, often seeing if we are ready for track. We break away and take on the day. I feel as if I am swimming in the ocean, while attempting to walk through the hallway. I make it a short distance and then I am swept back by the wave of people. Or maybe a better way to explain it would be like salmon swimming up stream, and then on top of that there are bears that act like road blocks, like the groups of kids standing in the middle of the hallway. O well, I finally make it to my first hour class. Alright class take out the homework that few of you probally did and turn it in. To my dismay, after searching frantically for the homework that I spent several hours working on, last night, at home, in my cave, that is due right now. I realize that I left it, in my back pack, back at home. O joy.

Track

Well LHS runners track has again started practice starts at 3:20 pm Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Be sure to be there on time or you will be doing up-downs. On Wednesday and Thursday practice will start at 3:05 pm. On Monday's and Wednesday's middle and long distance will be with Coach Anderson for middle distance work followed by long distance work if you are a long distance runner or if you so choose to attempt the distance runner's work out. Our first meet is on the 17 of March. Be sure to work hard everyday and get better. With that note be sure you are drinking enough water through out the day. You have not been drinking enough water if you just start before practice. Keep up the good work everyone the work and time will pay off. Be sure to also run during spring break. You should ask your coach if they can print off a schedule for you workouts and be sure to do everything on the work out list. If you do not run over spring break it may almost be like starting the season all over again. Keep up the hard work and keep getting people to join.

Garmin Forerunner 405 review

The Garmin Forerunner 405 is a very neat piece of technology that when used correctly can help with running. Garmin has many different tools packed into one watch. How ever there maybe more features than a runner actually needs. One of the to many items is the altimeter that feature is not necessary for an average runner. At least during a run or race i am not scrambling to try and find out what my altitude is but some people may like to know how far above sea level they are. Or another example is the speed at which you are traveling. However the features that I enjoy using and use the most are the average pace, time, distance, and lap pace. The average pace seems to work very well until you compare it to the other people around you that are wearing GPS watches and the time varies more than a few seconds this is only a minor problem. The time is another one that I use when running on a track or on a timed run. With the time you can also figure out your pace when you have your distance at the end of your run. The distance seems very accurate when running and that is one of the big features that is a must for a GPS watch. Lap pace is another very useful feature that I really enjoy using it allows the user to be able to see what their last mile time was or 400 time depending on what you have the laps set for. With the watch I have not had very many dropped signals if any that I can remember. As for the times required to get the satellites there are some occasional problems. Nothing to major as I can always get a signal lock but sometimes it takes awhile while other times it is only a few seconds. Another great feature of the watch is the display. With the display you are able to have multiple bits of information that are easily read while running. The watch also has a wonderful light so you can read the watch at night or on those early morning runs. The watch is a little bit bigger than what I would prefer but I have no problem wearing it to school. The watches battery life could be a little bit better but for having GPS it is not bad. The touch bezel does have some problems sometimes if it gets wet and it can really cause some problems until it is dry, as long as the watch is locked which is very easy to do it will be fine and not cause very many problems. Overall I would recommend this watch to other people being that this watch is well designed I do feel like they tried to squeeze in to many feature into the watch for runner's, and maybe if they did not try to get this watch to do so many things then maybe they could have made the watch smaller or mad a bigger battery.

Running Information

Lawrence High School's first track practice begins two weeks from Monday February 14 2011. It would be best if you start running now before the beginning of track, no speed days if you have not been running just work on getting a little bit of mileage in. Also be sure that all of you health forms are turned into the athletic office so you will be able to participate on the first day.
